Immunogenetic analysis of disease susceptibility has been encouraged by the identification of strong HLA associations with several diseases of uncertain cause. Weaker HLA associations exist with an outsized number of infectious and non-infectious diseases and therefore the mechanisms of those effects are starting to be uncovered. Both methods are applied to a good sort of animal behaviours, especially learning and behavioural responses to drugs, and this research provides evidence for widespread influence of genes on behaviour. The most important influence on the event of immunogenetics is, however, the studies of a gene family referred to as the MCH, or major histocompatibility complex.
