Pulmonary Developmental Biology-research-papers

At the earlier stage of lung development, there is an accompanying of blood circulation. In Adult lung the pulmonary arteries are closely associated with airways. In fetal development, the airways act as a shape for pulmonary blood vessel development in which vessels are formed by vasculogenesis around the branching airways.  Later in lung development, the alveoli multiply, new capillaries form by angiogenesis. As blood vessels increase in size, they develop as a muscle wall that is relatively thick during fetal life and shows a rapid reduction after birth. The control over the development on growth factors and physiological changes are described in this review. The pulmonary vascular development leads to the development of pulmonary arterial hypertension and strategies.
