Multiple Sclerosis Drugs

Medications which are used in multiple sclerosis to modify the disease course, treat relapses called exacerbations. Along with the MS care, these medications help to enhance their comfort and quality of life. Through clinical trials, US Food and Drug Administration approved disease modifying therapies to reduce the number of relapses, delay progression of disability. Injectable Medications like Avonex (interferon beta-1a), Betaseron (interferon beta-1b), Oral medications like Aubagio (teriflunomide), Infused medications like Lemtrada (alemtuzumab) and many more are introduced.  Early treatment with disease-modifying therapy is supported by the MS Coalition that includes the National MS Society. Consensus on Disease-Modifying Therapies are useful.
