Leishmaniasis Journals
Leishmaniasis may be a disease caused by parasites of the Leishmania type. It’s spread by the bite of certain sorts of sandflies. The disease can exist in three foremost ways: mucocutaneous, cutaneous, or visceral: cutaneous form presents with skin ulcers, and starts with skin ulcers; later it presents with: fiver, enlarged spleen and liver and ulcers with nose, skin and mouth. Infections in humans are caused by quite 20 species of Leishmania. Risk factors include poverty, malnutrition, deforestation, and urbanization. All three types are often diagnosed by seeing the parasites under microscopy. Additionally, visceral diseases are often diagnosed by blood tests. Leishmaniasis is often partly prevented by sleeping under nets treated with insecticide. Other measures include spraying insecticides to kill sandflies and treating people with the disease early to stop further spread. The treatment needed is decided by where the disease is acquired, the species of Leishmania, and the sort of infection.
