It may affect more than 11% of American women between 15 and 44.1 It is especially common among women in their 30s and 40s and may make it harder to get pregnant. You may have a mild form of the disease yet experience agonizing pain. This condition can disrupt your life if it’s left untreated. Taking supplemental hormones can sometimes relieve pain and stop the progression of endometriosis. Hormone therapy helps your body regulate the monthly hormonal changes that promote the tissue growth that occurs when you have endometriosis. Endometriosis can cause pain  especially during menstrual periods. Fertility problems also may develop. Fortunately, effective treatments are available.

Painful  periods (dysmenorrhea).  You may also have lower back and abdominal pain.

Pain with bowel movements or urination. You're most likely to experience these symptoms during a menstrual period.

Excessive bleeding.

 You may experience fatigue, diarrhea, constipation, bloating or nausea, especially during menstrual periods
