Southern Blot Scholarly Peer-review Journal
Southern blot is an Open Access, peer review Journals includes a wide range of fields in its discipline to create a platform for the authors to make their contribution towards the journal and the editorial office promises peer reviewing for the submitted manuscripts to ensure quality. The journal is using Editorial Tracking System for quality in online manuscript submission, review and tracking. Southern blot is a procedure of transfer of the denatured fragments of DNA out of the gel and onto a bearer layer makes it available for analysis utilizing a probe or counter acting agent. Depending on the substance to be isolated, blotting procedures may be – Southern blot, Northern blot or Western blot which isolates DNA, RNA and proteins respectively. Southern Blot is the analytical technique utilized in molecular biology, immunogenetics and other molecular methods to recognize or distinguish DNA of interest from a blend of DNA sample or a particular base sequence within a DNA strand. The procedure was created by a molecular biologist E.M. Southern in 1975 for analysing the related genes in a DNA limitation fragment and thus named as Southern smearing in his honour.
