Respiratory Diseases Open Access Journals

Respiratory diseases, or lung diseases, are pathological conditions affecting the organs and tissues that make air exchange difficult in air-breathing animals. They embrace conditions of the respiratory tract together with the trachea, bronchi, bronchioles, alveoli, pleurae, pleural cavity, and also the nerves and muscles of respiration. respiratory diseases vary from delicate and self-limiting, like the , common cold to dangerous diseases like , pulmonary embolism, microorganism pneumonia,  lung cancer, acute respiratory disorder[2] and severe acute respiratory syndromes.

The study of disease is understood as pulmonology. A doctor who specializes in respiratory disease is understood as a pulmonologist, a chest medicine specialist, a respiratory medicine specialist, a respirologist or a thoracic medicine specialist.
