Abstract:

Background: Azoospermia is defined as complete loss of sperm in an ejaculate. There are two types of azoospermia. Obstructive azoospermia is caused by an obstruction that prevents sperm delivery in to ejaculate and non-obstructive azoospermia results from abnormal sperm production. The clinical management of non-obstructive azoospermia has been challenging for reproductive specialist’s. Non-obstructive azoospermia accounts 10% to 15% of the males with infertility. This case study highlights the importance of detailed case taking in homoeopathic perspective and the importance of psychological cause in infertile men. Objective: The objective of the study is to show the efficacy of classical homoeopathy in management of azoospermia. Method: Detailed evaluation and analysis of the case was done. Constitutional totality was framed with the help of mental generals, physical generals and characteristic symptoms. Regular follow up in detail with investigations were done. Result: The results of the present study reveals that the semen analysis showed improvement from absence of sperm to 85 million sperms. Conclusion: With the detailed evaluation of the patient and constitutional prescription semen analysis showed improvement which shows the efficacy of homoeopathic medicines in treating non-obstructive azoospermia.

Biography:

Thamarai Kannan handled OPD and IPD postings efficiently during his post graduation. He has given frequent lectures on Homeopathy and Paediatrics to the undergraduate students. Handling theory and practical classes for BHMS students, at Vinayaka Mission’s Homoeopathic Medical College, Salem, as a part of fulfilling the curriculum requirements of post graduation. Working in the Department of Medicine at Tamil Nadu Homoeopathy Medical College, Salem.
