Radiotherapy Impact Factor
Radiation therapy is also called as a radiotherapy is a therapy using of ionizing radiation, generally as a part of cancer treatment to control or kill malignant cells and normally delivered by a linear accelerator. Radiotherapy uses are radiation, like as x-rays, gamma rays, electron beams or protons, to kill or damage cancer cells and it stops them from growing and multiplying. It is a localised treatment, that means it generally only affects the part of the body where the radiation is directed. Primary spinal canal tumors are a diverse group of neoplasms which constitutes 4% of all central nervous system tumors. Radiation therapy is generally applied to the cancerous tumor due to its ability to control cell growth. Ionizing radiation works through damaging the DNA of cancerous tissue leading to cellular death.
