While globalization has led to the convergence of more developed economies, many argue that the welfare gap between the more and less developed economies is growing. ‘Global economics’ looks at how trade has formed the global economy and considers the costs and welfares of free trade – it also provides an analysis of the major problems facing the global economy in the 21st Century, and offers an examination of the financial crisis and the rise of powerful trading blocs. Globalization has, however, enabled powerful multinationals to avoid taxes by employing complex tax systems. The inferences of Brexit for the global economy are also careful.
