Bone Mineral Density High Impact Factor Journals

Bone Mineral Density Also called: Bone mass. This test is important for people who are at risk for osteoporosis, especially women and older adults. Scholarly peer review is the process of subjecting an author's scholarly work, research, or ideas to the scrutiny of others who are experts in the same field, before a paper describing this work is published in a journal. The work may be accepted, considered acceptable with revisions, or rejected. Peer review requires a community of experts in a given (narrowly defined) field, who are qualified and able to perform reasonably impartial review. That means your bones are stronger, denser, and less likely to break. Anyone can get osteoporosis. It’s more common among older women, but men can have it, too. Your chances increase as you age.

You should discuss with your doctor whether you need the test. She may recommend it if you meet any of the following:

You’re a woman 65 or older

You’re a postmenopausal woman 50 or older

You’re a woman who has already been through menopause, younger than 65, and have other things that give you a higher chance of osteoporosis

These would include glucocorticoids, a class of drugs used to reduce inflammation.  In some cases, your doctor may prescribe medicines to prevent osteoporosis.
