Batchelor Vortex More Open Access Journals

The elliptic instability of a Batchelor vortex subject to a stationary strain field is considered by theoretical and numerical means in the regime of large  Reynolds number and small axial flow. In the theory, the elliptic instability is described as are the sonant coupling of two quasi-neutral normal modes (Kelvin modes) of the Batchelor vortex of azimuthal wave numbers manged+ 2 with the underlying strain field. Batchelor vortex velocity profiles as a function of the swirl and co-flow parameter. A vortex is a physics phenomenon that occurs when a gas or a liquid moves in circles. In the middle of a vortex line that the matter swirls around. They are formed when there is a difference in the velocity of what surrounds the line. Hurricanes, tornadoes, and air moving over a plane wing are examples of vortices.the radial component of the velocity is zero and that the axial and azimuthal components depend only on r.
