Applications In Cancer Research
Highly efficient establishment of the organoids can be accomplished from both normal and evil tissues of patients. By using this bioengineered platform, the links of the infection-cancer development and mutation-carcinogenesis are possible to be modeled. Another potential application is that organoid technology facilitates drug testing and guides to personalized therapy. Though organoids still fail to the model immune system accurately, co-cultures of the organoids and lymphocytes have been reported in several studies, bringing hope for additional application of this know-how in immunotherapy. In addition, the possible value in regeneration medicine might be another paramount branch of the organoid skill, which might be improve current transplantation therapy through the replacement of the irreversibly progressively diseased structures with the isogenic healthy organoids.
