Periodontitis Peer-Review Journals
Periodontitis is characterized as an inflammatory disease of the supporting tissues of the teeth were caused by specific microorganisms resulting in progressive desolation of periodontal ligament and alveolar bone with pocket formation, recession or both. The damage resulting from periodontal disease demonstrate in variable destruction of tooth supporting bone. It is one of the most common human disease. Periodontitis is caused by the certain bacteria known as periodontal bacteria and through the local inflammation caused by those bacteria. While these periodontal bacteria are naturally present in the mouth, they are only harmful when the conditions are right for them to increase dramatically in numbers.
