Myocardial Ischemia New Open Access Journals

Myocardial ischemia is responsible for angina, unstable angina, and, less commonly, lowness of breath second-string to ischaemic left ventricular dysfunction (angina equivalent) as well as cardiac heart disease. The mechanisms of myocardial ischemia likely to be encountered in patients presenting with the chronic coronary insufficiency and stable symptoms of angina. The myocardium, related to most other muscles, displays a relation between the velocity of condensation and the pre-contraction tension. The increased velocity, as with any increase in energy, requires an increase in oxygen consumption. Within the myocardium, the pre-contraction tension (myocardial wall tension) has a distinct relationship with the pre-contraction ventricular volume, where even comparatively small changes in volume will be associated with quite large changes in wall tension.
