Motivation In Young Athletes

Everyone requirements to feel  skilled and respected. The best way to stimulate someone is to make them sensation skilled and valued. This is specifically important for young athletes who are impartial learning the services and approaches of a sport. The key to encouraging young athletes is to point out their triumphs, encourage them to improve, and teach them needed skills, Let athletes know what they do well as well as what needs enhancement (e.g., good hustle, nice effort, good catch, way to be in the right place). Minimize punishment or disapproval – this does not mean to ignore mistakes; rather use instruction and encouragement to help athletes advance, Respond to mistakes based on the athlete’s current capability. In youth sport, skills may vary widely. Not all athletes should be held to the same average. Instead, expect all athletes to show effort and progress.
