Livestock Productionjournals Publications

Many technical and economic endeavours, at international levels, attempted to raise animal production and productivity in these areas. Studies revealed that the lack of understanding the ecological, socio-economic and cultural limitations inherent in tropics, which affect severely the application of conventional development models. Total land area used for grazing livestock production increased from approximately 3% to nearly 20%. This explains the importance of grazing landscapes as a core component of the food-security infrastructure on a local, regional, and worldwide basis. This also demonstrates an expectation that puts at risk essential ecological benefits and products. Including biodiversity in environmental assessments is due to its intrinsic complexity, scale issues and the significant difficulty is associated with reducing biodiversity.
