gastric cancer also called as Stomach cancer, is a cancer that develops from the lining of the stomach. It is one of the disease in which malignant cells develops from the lining of stomach. Main gastric cancer symptoms include heartburn, upper abdominal pain, nausea and loss of appetite, indigestion and stomach discomfort or pain, blood in the stool, Vomiting, weight loss etc. The cancer spread occurs from the stomach to other parts of the body, particularly the liver, lungs, bones, lining of the abdomen and lymph nodes. Bacterium Helicobacter pylori is the cause of the gastric cancer. Diagnosis of gastric cancer is usually by biopsy done during endoscopy. This is followed by medical imaging to detect if the disease has spread to other parts of the body.
