Angular Velocity

In physics angular velocity refers to the rate of velocity at which an item or a particle is rotating around a center or a particular point in a given timeframe. The pace of change of angular velocity is angular acceleration. Angular velocity is calculated in angle per unit time or radians per second (rad/s). There are two types of angular velocity: spin angular velocity and orbital angular velocity. Orbital angular velocity refers to how quick a point object rotates about a fixed origin, i.e. the time rate of change of its angular point relative to the origin. Spin angular velocity refers to how quick a rigid body rotates with respect to its centre of rotation. Angular velocity sensors are used to measure the rotation rate of a body with respect to an inertial frame of reference.
