Acid Rain

Acid rain is a form of precipitation or rain which is unusually acidic, means that it's increased levels of hydrogen ions which has low pH. It has harmful effects on aquatic animals, plants, and infrastructure. Acid rain is a result of excess emissions of sulphur dioxide and oxide , which reacts with the water molecules in the atmosphere to which causes acids. Some governments have made efforts since the 1970s to scale back the discharge of sulphur dioxide and oxide into the atmosphere with positive results. Nitrogen oxides also can be produced naturally by lightning strikes, and sulphur dioxide is produced by volcanic eruptions. Acid rain has been proven to possess or contain adverse impacts on freshwaters, forests and soils, killing aquatic and insect life-forms, causing corrosion of steel structures like bridges, paint to peel, and weathering of stone buildings and statues also as having impacts on human health.

"Acid rain" may be a unique term about the deposition of a mix from wet (rain, snow, sleet, fog, cloudwater, and dew) and dry (acidifying particles and gases) acidic components
