Toxicology Studies Research Articles

Toxicology studies are used to characterize the toxicity profile of a drug by identifying its impact on organ structure and / or functionality. This includes assessment of the severity and reversibility of toxicity, as well as dose ranges and their relationship to exposure.

Toxicology is that the detection, identification, and measurement of foreign compounds (xenobiotics) in biological and other specimens. Analytical methods are available for a really wide selection of compounds: these could also be chemicals, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, drugs of abuse and natural toxins. Analytic toxicology involves the appliance of the tools of analytic chemistry to the qualitative and/or quantitative estimation of chemicals.

Toxicology can assist within the diagnosis, management, prognosis, and prevention of poisoning. In addition analytical toxicology laboratories could also be involved during a range of other activities like the assessment of exposure following chemical incidents, therapeutic drug monitoring, forensic analyses, and monitoring for drugs of abuse. They may even be involved in research, for instance in determining the pharmacokinetic and toxicokinetic properties of drugs or the efficacy of latest treatment regimens.
