Spinal Anaesthesia Journals
Spinal anaesthesia (or spinal anesthesia), also known as spinal block, subarachnoid block, intradural block and intrathecal block,[1] could be a type of neuraxial regional anaesthesia involving the injection of a local anaesthetic or opioid into the space, generally through a fine needle, usually nine cm (3.5 in) long. it's a secure and effective type of anesthesia performed by nurse anesthetists and anaesthesiologists which may be used as alternate to general anesthesia normally in surgeries involving the lower extremities and surgeries below the umbilicus. The anaesthetic or opioid injected into the cerebrospinal fluid provides anesthesia, analgesia, and motor and sensory blockade. The tip of the spinal needle has a purpose or small bevel. Recently, pencil point needles are created accessible (Whitacre, Sprotte, Gertie Marx and others)
