Preterm Birth Peer Review Journals

Preterm birth is defined as babies born alive before 37 (thirty-seven) weeks of pregnancy are completed. There are sub-categories of preterm birth, based on gestational age; extremely preterm (less than 28 weeks), very preterm (28 to 32 weeks), and moderate to late preterm (32 to 37 weeks). Induction or caesarean birth shouldn't be planned before 39 completed weeks unless medically indicated. Premature babies often have complicated medical problems. Typically, complications of prematurity vary. But the sooner your baby is born, the upper the danger of complications. Some signs of prematurity includes, Small size, with a disproportionately large head; Sharper looking, less rounded features than a full-term baby's features, due to a lack of fat stores; Fine hair covering much of the body; Low blood heat , especially immediately after birth within the delivery room, thanks to a scarcity of stored body fat, etc.
