Most often, it affects the long bones in the leg, the pelvis, or the os. osteochondroma is that the most typical noncancerous bone growth. It most often occurs between the ages of ten and thirty. It affects males and females equally. osteochondroma could be a benign bone tumor. Benign means that it's not cancer. Benign tumors are collections of abnormal cells that keep in one place and don't move to alternative components of the body. Osteochondromas type on the surface of the bone close to the growing end (growth plate). they may feel like hard bumps near joints. an osteochondroma is formed of bone and gristle from the growth plate. The bump gets larger as your kid grows. Once your kid stops growing, the osteochondroma stops growing too. Osteochondromas are products of each bone and cartilage. cartilage is the sleek lining of your joints that allows them to maneuver simply. Osteochondromas occur close to the ends of growing bones. they're sometimes found within the arms or legs, but they will form on any bone.
