Orchids Scholarly Research Journals
Orchids are distinguished from other plants, as these can be derived based on characteristics which are bilateral symmetry of the flower many recuperate flowers are highly modified petal uses the stamens and carpels, and extremely small seeds. All orchids are perennial herbs lies on permanent woody structure. It can grow according to two patterns which are also known as Monopodia and Symposia .Terrestrial orchids may be rhizomatous. The root caps on the terrestrial orchids are smooth and white Epiphytic orchids which can grow on a support, have been modified as aerial roots that can sometimes be a few meters long. In older parts of the roots, a modified spongy epidermis, called a velamen, has the function of absorbing humidity. It is made of dead cells in silvery-grey, white or brown appearance. In some orchids the velamen includes the spongy and fibrous bodies which are near the passage cells, called ribosomes.
