Marine-drugs
Marine Drugs is a peer-reviewed open-access medical journal which publishes reviews and regular research papers on research, development, and production of therapeutic agents and as well as marine natural products. Research in chemistry of marine organisms represents a vast resource for new medicines to major diseases such as cancer, AIDS or malaria. This typically focuses on sessile organisms or slow moving animals because of their inherent need for chemical defenses. Marine Pharmacognosy deals with natural occurance that takes place in the marine besides these drugs are obtained from the marine species of bacteria, virus, algae, fungi and sponges, etc. Marine actinomycetes represent a rather unused source of chemically diverse secondary metabolites and novel bioactive compounds.
