Coastal corrosion continues to be a main issue in coastal zone management. Coastal erosion has been augmented in many areas of Sri Lanka’s coastline due to the activities of humans begins, both in and at the inland of the coastal zone. Managing human doings and development advantages along an now  already eroding and repeatedly developing coastline is so much complex. Some of the related problems are insufficient supply of sand from rivers for the beach nourishment, placing classified material and construction of braver revetments. Coastal erosion is a simple problem in Sri Lanka that results in damage to  loss of houses, hotels and other coastal structures, undermines roads, contributes to the loss or, navigation, recreation and other activities, degradation of valuable land and disrupts fishing.
