Gene-silencing

Gene silencing is usually defined as an epigenetic change of gene expression principal to the inactivation of previously dynamic individual genes or larger chromosome areas. Instruments responsible for the regulator of genes involve variations in levels of DNA methylation and changes in covalent alterations of histone proteins, which lead to chromatin compaction, making genes inaccessible to the transcription machinery. Gene silencing can also occur post-transcriptionally due to mRNA degradation and/or repression of its translation. These possessions are often mediated by small RNA managers such as small interfering RNAs (siRNAs), microRNAs (miRNAs), or Piwi-associated RNAs (piRNAs), which are made from different forms of double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) accumulating in cells.
