Embryonic Stem Cells Review Articles
Embryonic stem (ES) cells are pluripotent stem cells obtained from the inner cell mass of pre-implantation embryos. Stimulated pluripotent stem (iPS) cells can be created by somatic cell reprogramming go after the exogenous expression of particular transcription factors (Oct-3/4, KLF4, SOX2, and c-Myc). These cell types are efficient of unlimited, undifferentiated propagation in vitro and still maintain the capability to differentiate into a wide variety of somatic cells. In this capacity, pluripotent stem cells have extensive clinical potential for the treatments of heart disease, spinal cord injury, diabetes, and a variety of neurodegenerative disorders.
