Clinical Cytogenetics Open Access
Clinical cytogenetics is that the study of the connection of chromosomal alterations and genetic diseases in human beings. Molecular cytogenetics could be a study of genetic disorders using new technologies that mix cytogenetic and molecular techniques. This lecture covers basic cytology concepts and techniques, mechanism of chromosomal alterations, chromosomal nomenclature, common cytogenetic disorders, diagnosis of chromosomal disorders, genetic counseling, introduction of molecular genetic science, and normally used FISH techniques and their clinical significance
Cytogenetic includes a very powerful ability to scan the genome for aberrations that involve each gains and losses of parts of the ordination, similarly as rearrangements inside and among chromosomes
