Carbon Nanotubes Top Access Journals
Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are tubes made from carbon with diameters typically measured in nanometers. Carbon nanotubes often ask single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) with diameters within the range of a nanometer. They were discovered independently by Iijima and Ichihashi and Bethune et al. in carbon arc lamp chambers almost like those wont to produce fullerenes. Single-wall carbon nanotubes are one among the allotropes of carbon, intermediate between fullerene cages and flat graphene.
A nanotube may be a tube-shaped material, made from carbon, having a diameter measuring on the nanometer scale. A nanometer is one-billionth of a meter, or about one ten-thousandth of the thickness of a person's hair. The graphite layer appears somewhat sort of a rolled-up net with endless unbroken hexagonal mesh and carbon molecules at the apexes of the hexagons. Carbon Nanotubes have many structures, differing long , thickness, and within the sort of helicity and number of layers. Although they're formed from essentially an equivalent graphite sheet, their electrical characteristics differ counting on these variations, acting either as metals or as semiconductors
