Articles On Internal Medicine

Internal medicine or general general medicine (in Commonwealth nations) is that the medicine addressing the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of internal diseases. Physicians specializing in general medicine are known as internists, or  physicians (without a modifier) in Commonwealth nations. Internists are proficient within the management of patients who have undifferentiated  or multi-system disease processes. Internists look after hospitalized and ambulatory patients and should play a significant role in teaching and research. Of note is that general medicine and family medicine are usually confused as equal within the Commonwealth nations (see below).

Because general medicine patients are usually seriously sick or require complicated investigations, internists do a lot of of their work in hospitals. Internists usually have subspecialty interests in diseases affecting explicit organs or organ systems.Internal medicine is additionally a specialty among clinical pharmacy and veterinary medicine.
