Androgen Receptor Phosphorylations

The androgen receptor refer as NR3C4 (nuclear receptor subfamily 3, group C, member 4), maybe a sort of nuclear receptor that's ca be activated by binding any of the androgenic hormones, including testosterone and dihydrotestosterone within the cytoplasm then translocation into the nucleus. The androgen receptor is most closely associated with the progesterone receptor, and progestin’s in higher dosages can block the androgen receptor. the most function of the androgen receptor is as a DNA-binding transcription factor that regulates gene expression; however, the androgen receptor has other functions also . Androgen-regulated genes are critical for the event and maintenance of the male sexual phenotype. In some of the cell types, the testosterone can interact directly with the androgen receptors, whereas, in others, testosterone can be converted in to  5-alpha-reductase to dihydrotestosterone, a good stronger agonist for androgen receptor activation. then the Testosterone may appears to be the first androgen receptor-activating hormone in the Wolffian duct, whereas dihydrotestosterone is that the main androgen within the urogenital sinus, urogenital tubercle, and hair follicles. Testosterone is therefore responsible primarily for the event of male primary sexual characteristics, whilst dihydrotestosterone is liable for secondary male characteristics.
