The role of macronutrients in metabolic health.
Macronutrients, including carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, play a vital role in metabolic health. Carbohydrates provide the body with a constant supply of glucose, but it is essential to choose complex carbohydrates for optimal health. Proteins are necessary for building and repairing tissues in the body and can improve glycemic control. Lean sources of protein are preferred to high-fat sources. Unsaturated fats, such as those found in nuts, seeds, and oils, can improve metabolic health, while saturated fats can contribute to metabolic disorders. A balanced diet that includes the right types of macronutrients is crucial for maintaining metabolic health and preventing metabolic disorders such as type-2 diabetes and obesity.Author(s): Liu Zhao
