Vesicovaginal Fistula

Vesicovaginal fistula is a fistulous tract that exists between bladder and the vagina . It allows continuous involuntary discharge of urine into the vaginal vault in addition to this it forms fistulas, it has a profound effect on the patient's emotional well-being. It results in the congenital birth condition such as VATER or VACTERAL. Vesicovaginal fistulae can be repaired either by transvaginally or laparoscopically. But these patients who have multiple transvaginal procedures which requires a final repair through a large abdominal incision, or laparotomy. The laparoscopic approach to VVF repair has become more predominant due to visualization, higher success rate, and lower rate of complications.
