Traumatic Brain Injury Research Articles

A traumatic brain injury is formed as a blow to the head or a sharp head injury that breaks up the normal function of the brain. Traumatic brain injury can result when the head abruptly and violently hits an object or when an object pierces the skull and enters brain tissue. Symptoms of a traumatic brain injury can be mild, moderate, or strong, depending on the level of damage to the brain. Mild cases may result in a short change in the mental state while severe cases may result in prolonged periods of unconsciousness, coma, or even death. Moderate to strong traumatic brain injuries can include any of the signs and symptoms of mild harm, as well as these symptoms that may seem within the first hours to days after a head injury. Loss of consciousness from several minutes to hours.
