Tomographic Imaging

A computerized tomography (CT) is a method of producing a three-dimensional image of the internal structures of a solid object (like the human body or the earth), a scan that combine a sequence of X-ray images taken from different angles around your body and uses computer processing to generate cross sectional images of the soft tissues, blood vessels and bones inside your body. CT scan images provide more detailed information compared to plain X-rays do. CT is painless, fast, noninvasive and accurate. Though CT scans do show a bit more detail than ultrasound but cannot identify cancerous tissue but they detect internal injuries and bleeding. In brief it uses a combination of X-rays and a computer to create pictures of your bones, organs and other tissues.
