Subdural Haemorrhage Open Access Journals

A subdural hematoma is a type of bleeding in which a collection of blood usually associated with a traumatic brain injury occurs when a blood vessel near the surface of the brain bursts. Blood builds up between the brain and the tough brain's outer lining. This type of condition is also called a subdural hemorrhage. In a subdural hematoma, blood collects instantly beneath the dura mater. The dura mater is the outermost layer of the membrane. The meninges have a three-layers protective covering of the brain. A subdural hematoma is a life-threatening problem because it can compact the brain. Almost subdural hemorrhages result from trauma to the head of the person. The trauma damages tiny veins within the meninges. In young, healthy people, bleeding usually is triggered by a significant consequence. This type of impact might happen in a high-speed motor vehicle accident. In contrast, older people may bleed after only minor trauma. For example, it might happen from falling out of a chair or table.
