Review Articles On Neuroinflammation
Neuroinflammation is an important aspect of Parkinson's disease. The study of paralysis agitans neuroinflammation is sort of challenging and is amid controversy. To date, molecular imaging studies are targeting microglia and more recently astrocytes. In this review article, we discuss the findings from key PET studies with tracers specific for the translocator protein (microglia-specific) and novel evidence from the development of astrocyte-specific PET tracers. There is significant interest in understanding inflammatory responses within the brain and medulla spinalis. Inflammatory responses that are centralized within the brain and medulla spinalis are generally mentioned as “neuroinflammatory”. In chronic case the neurotoxic mediators remain activated for the longer time and increase in mediators cause neuronal death. The explanation for neuroinflammation is said to oxidative damage. When the system gets imbalanced, oxidation occurs, not only among tissues of circulatory system, but also among brain tissues. These journal is indexed with all their citations noted.
