Respiratory Tract Infections More Pre Reviewed Journals

A respiratory tract infection is any of a number of infectious diseases involving the respiratory tract. The upper respiratory tract is generally considered to be the airway above the glottis. The upper respiratory tract includes tonsillitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis, sinusitis, otitis media, certain types of influenza, and the common cold. Upper respiratory infection symptoms include cough, sore throat, runny nose, nasal congestion, headache, low-grade fever, facial pressure, and sneezing. Cough is caused by the Bordetella pertussis bacterium. Unmanageable violent coughing that can make it difficult to breathe is characteristic of this lung infection. The whooping sound comes from a sick person uptake in the air after a coughing fit. Any person, including old age people, can get pertussis, but infants stand a particularly severe, even life-threatening, risk.
