Respiratory Diseases:

A type of disease that affects the lungs and other parts of the systema respiratorium . Respiratory diseases could also be caused by infection, by smoking tobacco, or by inhaling secondhand tobacco smoke, radon, asbestos, or other sorts of pollution . Respiratory diseases include asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pulmonary fibrosis, pneumonia, and carcinoma . Also called lung disorder and pulmonary disease. Asthma may be a chronic inflammatory disorder of the airways characterized by episodes of reversible breathing problems thanks to airway narrowing and obstruction. These episodes can home in severity from mild to life threatening. Symptoms of asthma include wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath. Daily preventive treatment can prevent symptoms and attacks and enable individuals who have asthma to steer active lives. COPD may be a preventable and treatable disease characterized by airflow limitation that's not fully reversible. The airflow limitation is typically progressive and related to an abnormal inflammatory response of the lungs to noxious particles or gases (typically from exposure to cigarette smoke).Treatment can lessen symptoms and improve quality of life for those with COPD.
