Public Health Nurse

Public health nursing is a nursing field that focuses on public health. Public health nurses (PHNs) or community health nurses called as  "integrate community”  consists of knowledge about the entire population with personal, clinical understandings of the health and illness. All public health nurses are registered nurses. These do not require any further training beyond taking public health nursing courses but others do require the individual to obtain a certification in public health nursing. This requires a bachelor's degree and five years of public health work experience. Another  one was the Advanced Public Health Nursing Certification (PHNA-BC) but it is now only offered for renewal.
