OXIDATIVE STRESS ARTICLES

Oxidative stress is imbalance between the professional oxidant and antioxidant status within the living organisms. In human, reactive oxygen species (ROS) and free radicals are produced in various metabolic activity and immune reaction under normal physiological state .

ROS and free radicals generation have both protective also as harmful effect. Antioxidants are those substances which scavenge the ROS and free radicals and protect the various biomolecules like DNA, protein, carbohydrates, lipid then forth. during this review, we specialise in the assembly of ROS, oxidative stress and scavenging properties of antioxidants
The emergence of viral respiratory pathogens with pandemic potential, like severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV), the pathogenic agent of Covid-19, represent a significant ill health worldwide. Respiratory viral infections are, generally related to cytokine production, inflammation, necrobiosis , and other pathophysiological processes, which might be link with a redox imbalance or oxidative stress. These phenomena are substantially increased during aging. Actually, severity and mortality risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection or Covid-19 disease are related to the age. The aim of this work was to contribute with the understanding of the possible link between oxidative stress and therefore the pathogenesis, severity and mortality risk in patients suffering from SARS-CoV infection.
