Open Access Articles On Systems Biology
Systems biology is the computational and mathematical analysis and modelling of complex biological systems. It belongs to biology-based interdisciplinary field of study which focuses on interactions which are complex, within biological systems, employing a unique approach (unique rather than the more traditional reductionism) to scientific research. When it's crossing the sector of systems theory and therefore the applied math methods, it develops into the sub-branch of complex systems biology.
Particularly from year 2000 onwards, the concept has been used widely in biology during a sort of contexts. The Human Genome Project is an example of applied systems thinking in biology which has led to new, collaborative ways of performing on problems within the biological field of genetics. One of the aims of systems biology is to model and find out emergent properties, properties of cells, tissues and organisms functioning as a system whose theoretical description is merely possible using techniques of systems biology. They mostly involves cell signaling networks or metabolic networks.
