Neuropathic Pain High Impact Factor Journals

The redefinition of neuropathic pain as “pain arises as a direct consequence of a lesion or disease affecting the somatosensory system,” which was suggested by the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) Special Interest Group on Neuropathic Pain in 2008, has been widely accepted. Neuropathic Pain is a complex chronic pain state that usually is accompanied by tissue injury. With neuropathic pain, the nerve fibers themselves might be damaged, dysfunctional, or injured. Neuropathic pain (NP) is a common condition characterized by subjective negative and positive symptoms that range from numbness to debilitating pain. NP can have a significant negative impact on a patient’s quality of life. Pharmacotherapy is typically the first step in treating NP.
