Neonatal Jaundice Peer Review Journals
Neonatal jaundice generally observes in newborns and which needs medical care. The symptoms are consist of yellow coloration of skin and sclera in newborns. These appear due to the accumulation of unconjugated bilirubin. High levels of bilirubin can put into a baby at risk for deafness, cerebral palsy, or other forms of brain damage. In infants it is a normal process of accumulation of unconjugated bilirubin but in some cases the levels of bilirubin increases and it becomes neurotoxic to infants are leads to death. So newborns should be diagnosed regularly. Other symptoms can include excess sleepiness or poor feeding. Complications may have seizures, cerebral palsy, or kernicterus.
