Mutation Scholarly Peer Review Journal
Mutational mechanisms contribute to non-random distributions of mutations in DNA. For example, deamination of cytosine occurs spontaneously at high rates in DNA and if left unrepaired leads to the creation of a C to T substitution. Because mutations are random changes, they're expected to be mostly deleterious, but some could also be beneficial in certain environments. In general, mutation is that the main source of genetic variation, which is that the staple for evolution by survival. Indeed, there are regulatory functions in cells that can delay the start of replication when there is a great deal of damage to be repaired. The top open access journals are peer reviewed scholarly Journal of Genetic Syndromes & Gene Therapy.
