Journals On Alkaloids
Journals on Alkaloids is an important platform for researchers working on alkaloids to present new finding and also learn and be updated on the latest research that is conducted on alkaloids. A secondary metabolite with one or more nitrogen atoms in their structure is called an Alkaloid. There are approximately 30000 different alkaloid structure in nature. They are derived from Amino acid precursors like lysine and arginine. Alkaloids serve as a defense substance in nature against microbes and herbivores and thus most are found to be toxic. Plants with alkaloids are generally toxic or medicinal as they interact with molecule which are important in health conditions like morphine which is used as an analgesic. Research into the use of alkaloids in medicine and agriculture is less as many of these alkaloids have not been discovered and their method of action has not been understood
