The main goal of the injury and disease prevention programs is to avoid workplace injuries, diseases and deaths, the suffering these events reason workers, and the financial hardship and they cause both workers and companies. Workplace incidents cause an huge amount of physical, financial and emotional poverty for individual workers and their families. Combined with lacking of workers' compensation welfares and inadequate medical insurance, workshop injuries and illnesses can not only cause physical pain and suffering but also loss of the employment and salaries, burdensome debt, inability to maintain a previous normal of living, loss of the home ownership and even bankruptcy.
