Heridity Journals

Perhaps the foremost fundamental property of all living things is that the ability to breed. All organisms inherit the genetic information specifying their structure and performance from their parents. Likewise, all cells arise from pre-existing cells, so the genetic material must be replicated and passed from parent to progeny cell at each cell division. When meiotic division takes places, it divides the chromosomes equally between both daughter cells. Thus, from the 2 chromosomes contained in set 1, one is given to every cell, and this process is repeated for every of the remaining sets. Theoretically, inheritance could affect bone strength and fracture risk in a minimum of two ways. Genetic factors could influence skeletal growth and therefore the amount of bone mass attained in early adulthood (peak bone mass) and subjects with genetically determined low bone mass could be more susceptible to develop osteoporosis with subsequent aging. These journals are indexed with all their citations noted. The top open access journals are indexed in MEDLINE, PUBMED, SCOPUS, COPERNICUS, CAS, EBSCO and ISI.
